It is a grid that can contain <strong>action buttons<\/strong> (e.g.: start, read sentence, delete, etc.) and also some <strong>basic vocabulary<\/strong> that we want to be visible on all boards (e.g.: &#8222;I want to rest&#8220;).<\/p>\n<p>Before we continue, we should know that the <strong>Global Grid<\/strong> can be <strong>Activated \/ Deactivated<\/strong> from the <strong>Manage Grids<\/strong> section. We can also <strong>Reset the global<\/strong> <strong>grid to default<\/strong> when we have made changes to it and want to return to its original state.<\/p>\n<p>At the bottom of this section, you will find a section called <strong>Global Grid<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Here we can select the <label class=\"four columns\" for=\"selectHomeGrid\" data-v-dd9feaca=\"\"><strong>Home grid for creating the global grid<\/strong>, where we will select which of our grids is the <strong>home grid<\/strong> of our communicator when we reset global grid to default.<\/label><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-95504 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/aulaabierta.arasaac.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Comunicador-Asterics-pictogramas-ARASAAC-112_en.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1543\" height=\"667\"><\/p>\n<p>In this example, we are going to show you how to add the <strong>cumulative phrase<\/strong> and the <strong>action buttons<\/strong> of this phrase. You can also add it using the <strong>More<\/strong> button at the top right of the grid as shown in this screenshot.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-95510 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/aulaabierta.arasaac.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Comunicador-Asterics-pictogramas-ARASAAC-113_en.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1600\" height=\"900\"><\/p>\n<p>Once this option is selected, the cell of the cumulative sentence appears, which we can stretch to make it larger and move it to where we are interested in. We recommend that the elements you place on the global grid be located in the first row of cells.<\/p>\n<p>To <strong>Edit<\/strong> tand <strong>Configure the cumulative phrase<\/strong> (collect element), right-click on it. As we can see we have two tabs: <strong>General<\/strong> and <strong>Actions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-110706 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/aulaabierta.arasaac.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Comunicador-Asterics-pictogramas-ARASAAC-115_en-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1046\" height=\"608\"><\/p>\n<p>We recommend that you use the default configuration, but you can test to familiarize yourself with this window.<\/p>\n<p>However, we briefly explain the different options.<\/p>\n<p>In the <strong>General<\/strong> tab we can set:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Collect mode<\/strong>: we can <strong>accumulate all elements together<\/strong> (symbols and texts written on the alphanumeric keypad board) or only <strong>accumulate texts<\/strong> (for people who exclusively use the alphanumeric keypad). We recommend that you use the <strong>Automatic<\/strong> mode on a regular basis. In either case, the synthesized voice will read the symbols and texts.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Height of collected images<\/strong>: indicates the percentage that we can select to make the images fit the size of the accumulated sentence.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Factor for font size of only-text elements in separated mode<\/strong>: (recommended between 1-2).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Show labels of collected images<\/strong>: allows you to select whether the text you have entered in the cells of the images and symbols should appear or not. We recommend the first option. Occasionally it happens that the text is larger than the pictogram and appears choppy. We can use the previous option to adjust the font size.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Use horizontal scrollbar if elements don&#8217;t fit<\/strong>: if the user is accumulating more elements than fit in the accumulated sentence, a scroll bar will appear at the bottom if we activate it. If this option is not active, the elements will be arranged in multiple lines.<\/li>\n<li> <label for=\"convertToLowercase\" data-v-282ffdec=\"\"><strong> Convert lowercase keyboard letters to uppercase<\/strong>: when we create a keyboard board, we can enter uppercase or lowercase letters in the cell. This option converts keystrokes with lowercase letters to uppercase when they appear in the accumulated sentence.<\/label><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In the <strong>Actions tab<\/strong>, we can set any type of menu action that will be executed when we <strong>click on the collect element<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In this case, it is interesting to have activated those that you can see in the following screenshot: <strong>Collect element action<\/strong> and <strong>Fill prediction elements<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-110712 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/aulaabierta.arasaac.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Comunicador-Asterics-pictogramas-ARASAAC-115a_en.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1040\" height=\"602\"><\/p>\n<p>In the case of <strong>Collect element Action<\/strong>, we recommend using any of the first four actions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Speak collect element content (separately &#8211; element by element)<\/strong>: the synthesised voice speaks the whole sentence element by element, highlighting the pictograms and texts with a green background box.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Speak collect element content (continuously)<\/strong>: the synthesised voice speaks the whole sentence continuously, without pauses.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Speak collect element content (separately &#8211; element by element) and clear afterwards<\/strong>: the synthesised voice pronounces the whole sentence element by element, highlighting the pictograms and texts with a green background box. Once the phrase has been spoken, it will be automatically deleted.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Speak collect element content (continuously) and clear afterwards<\/strong>: the synthesised voice speaks the whole sentence continuously, without pauses. This is an example. In your case, you can distribute the elements in the order that is most appropriate for your user.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-95524 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/aulaabierta.arasaac.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Comunicador-Asterics-pictogramas-ARASAAC-116_en.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1600\" height=\"290\"><\/p>\n<p>To enter the <strong>action cells for the cumulative phrase<\/strong>, first create a <strong>New cell<\/strong> by <strong>right-clicking<\/strong> on it or from the upper right button <strong>More<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-142744 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/aulaabierta.arasaac.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Comunicador-Asterics-pictogramas-ARASAAC-116-3-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1030\" height=\"579\"><\/p>\n<p>As usual, the cell editing window is shown. As they are action cells, we can leave the <strong>Text<\/strong> unfilled.<\/p>\n<p>Before entering the image, we must select the <strong>Action<\/strong> we are going to enter for our cumulative phrase (collect element).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-95540 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/aulaabierta.arasaac.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Comunicador-Asterics-pictogramas-ARASAAC-117_en.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1053\" height=\"600\"><\/p>\n<p>In this window, select <strong>Collect element action<\/strong> and click on <strong>Add action<\/strong>. Once the phrase has been spoken, it will be automatically deleted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In the <strong>Image<\/strong> tab, in <strong>ARASAAC<\/strong> we can find a <strong>collection of action buttons<\/strong>, which you can use in this case. To view them and assign them to the cell, just go to the <strong>Image<\/strong> section and type the word <strong>button<\/strong> in the <strong>Image search<\/strong> field.
