What is it?
Jocomunico is a free Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) application designed for people with severe speech disorders who communicate using pictograms.
The application automatically expands the telegraphic language, which is derived from the use of pictograms, to natural language in Catalan and Spanish,transforming a set of pictograms such as, for example, “I go to school tomorrow”, in natural phrases such as “Tomorrow I will go to school”. Jocomunico is a pioneer in this field, since it offers great flexibility in the construction of sentences as well as the possibility of adding personalized vocabulary.
It also has a pictogram prediction system that learns from the user’s use of the application but also takes into account the semantic information of the pictograms, as well as part of the context of the conversation.
Jocomunico uses by default the pictograms of ARASAAC.

It also has a pictogram prediction system that learns from the user’s use of the application but also takes into account the semantic information of the pictograms, as well as part of the context of the conversation.
It also has a history that saves the last sentences generated, while allowing you to create folders with these phrases or with others entered through the keyboard. This feature reduces communication time and offers the ability to prepare conversations in advance.
Another novelty introduced by Jocomunico is that it can be used on all types of devices with an Internet connection,such as mobiles, tablets and computers with any operating system. An offline version is also available for Windows (XP or higher) and for Mac OS X (10.6 or higher).
App customization
Jocomunico offers several accessibility options:access to the interface by touch on tablets, through one or two buttons or with the mouse on the computer; widely configurable scanning system; configurable per-click selection and time-based selection; creation of fully customizable panels; online voice synthesis service or access to system voices in the offline version (SAPI and Microsoft Speech Platform for Windows or VoiceOver voices for Mac OS X), etc.
