A great example of the use of AAC in the field of culture are the communication boards with pictograms and photographs for museumsin Finland with the aim of adapting their content to people with difficulties in communication and cognitive accessibility. These boards include pictograms of ARASAAC and photographs taken from the museums themselves.
The project has been funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Finland and developed by Papunet (Developmental Disabilities Unit of the network)in cooperation with the Maritime Museum of Finland – Suomen merimuseo, the Sports Museum of Finland – Suomen Urheilumuseo, the Provincial Museum of Lapland – Lapin maakuntamuseum and the Helinä RautavaaranMuseum.
