Project description:
«Put a picto in your district« is a project of cognitive accessibility of the Accessibility Area of the City of Malaga by which in each of the collaborating shops of the city will be installed a plaque with a pictogram alluding to the activity of the trade and a communication board referring to the elements and actions that can be carried out in said trade, using the pictograms of ARASAAC – Aragonese Portal of Augmentative and Alternative Communication.
This action responds to thedemands of different groups to enhance the cognitive accessibility of the city and thereby enable equal opportunities for all citizens. It is aimed first of all at people with intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorder. In addition, older people and foreigners will benefit from this action.
The project is an initiative of the
Accessibility Area of Malaga City Council and the
districts Centro, Bailén Miraflores, Carretera de Cádiz, Campanillas and Cruz de Humilladero in collaboration with the
Agrupación de Desarrollo Málaga Accesible, the Incluya Association, Aula Tea Giner de los Ríos, Equipo Sidi and Fundación Afim. It also has the support of the associations of merchants in these areas of the city.
