Project description:
On October 16, 2021, the 1st Adapted Children’s Race was held in Vicwith the aim of giving visibility to children with disabilities, functional diversity, ASD or other circumstances.
The route was linear and participants were able to choose the distance from 10 to 50 meters. The participating families were provided with the social history of the race adapted with ARASAAC pictograms in order to anticipate and structure the activity. A time slot with fewer sound stimuli was also scheduled. The spaces were labeled with the same pictograms of ARASAAC as in social history and a rest area was enabled for families and children.
The race was organized by the City Council of Vic with the collaboration of the entities of the diversity table and the Consell Esportiu d’Osona. The different supports with pictograms were elaborated by the CEE l’Estel and the Association TEA-Asperger d’Osona.
