Project description
The City Hall of Elche, the Urban Bus Company of Elche and the Illicit Association of Autism Spectrum and Language Disorder (AITEAL) have collaborated in an initiative to promote cognitive accessibility for people with autism and other planning problems, by placing sequences of pictograms on bus shelters, on urban buses and on the city’s tourist train.
To carry it out, three different sequences have been developed based on the pictograms of the Aragonese Center for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (ARASAAC) that will be installed in all urban buses (one sequence in the cabin, when entering, and another inside the bus), in the canopies and in the tourist train.
This campaign aims to ensure that people with autism and other planning difficulties have easy access to public transport. For the institutions involved, it is essential that bus and tourist train transport be accessible to everyone.
From ARASAAC, we convey our congratulations to all the institutions involved and our gratitude for using our pictograms and resources to carry it out.
