Project description:
The Working Group of Cognitive Accessibility and Easy Reading of Ceuta has developed material adapted with pictograms for use in school transport and assisted transport for people with reduced mobility of the Red Cross.
The material elaborated consists of: the rules that must be complied with within the transports, as well as the social stories to help the students, both for the entrance and the exit of the school. Communication boards have also been developed for students and other users of these transports.
Being able to count on these communication boards within the transport allows all non-verbal people with communication problems to communicate needs and desires. These boards have been made thinking about the different modalities of indication to communicate: finger signaling, signaling with the gaze (for students with Cerebral Palsy) and by image exchange (especially indicated for students with ASD).
In addition, the package of shared material includes social stories for extracurricular outings and outings that take place in the different associations.
We understand that shared material can be used in all associations that serve people with comprehension and communication problems.
All the material has been made with pictograms of ARASAAC.
The members of the Working Group of Cognitive Accessibility and Easy Reading of Ceuta “I understand my Environment” are grateful that the Ceuta Red Cross has joined the cognitive accessibility project.
The entities that join the project, facilitating the environment for people with disabilities and creating the necessary aids for the understanding of it contribute to these people being able to understand the information more easily and, consequently, to be able to participate in society”.
