Project description:
The CEIP Giner de los Ríos de Málagais a center for Early Childhood and Primary Education that has a Specific TEA Classroom. For several years now, we have been working on the inclusion of students with ASD in the center and their integration in all the activities that are carried out, in addition to making the entire educational community aware of the importance of considering the ASD Classroom as one more classroom in the center.
Little by little and, as necessary, a cognitive adaptation and accessibility project has been carried out, marking with ARASAACpictogramsthose places and serviceswhere students with ASD carry out their daily school activities.
In the first place, the TEA Classroom was adapted and, later, those places of the center the students carried out the activities outside the classroom (Classrooms, Library, video room, computer room, auditorium …) and common places to use in (services, banks, waiting places …).
The objectives of the project are:
* Adapt the school with pictograms, agendas and socialscripts both for the students in the classroom, as well as for everyone who needs it (other intellectual disabilities, students with another language, …).
* Prepare a manual where the nomenclature and specific specifications of the signage are made explicit, agreed by the professionals of the Aula TEA, complemented with the contributions of pictographic and design criteria suggested by the Technical Team of the Accessibility Area of the Malaga City Council, thanks to the responsable Maida Rodríguez.
From ARASAAC, we want to express our appreciation and full support for initiatives such as the one currently being carried out in this center that improve the quality of life of all people.
